Fucking popularity contest with Taxpayer Money

Ok I will be the first person to admit that I am not completely up to date on the whole political situation and right now I don't care to. I try to get an understanding of the issues when its election time and I place my vote when I think its best suited. Canada is a beautiful country that as far as I've been able to tell is pretty well respected around the globe; though we maybe respected our elected officials seem to be as big twits as those to our American Neighbors.

Now I don't want to start on American politics because its simply not worth it, though its safe to say that quite often their politicians come off looking like idiots on the global scene (with egg on their face... sorry Bush the Iraq thing was kind of dumb). So it seems that our politicians up here are trying as hard as possible to be retards and in my opinion they seem to be succeeding. The Conservative party has been trying to bring down the minority government recently, which has forced our Prime Minister to try forming an alliance with the NDP
(here's an article from the Metro news that'll fill in some details).

Ok, we've got a minority government, which means that we Canadians didn't decide which person was really best suited for the job. This really shouldn't be a big deal; the party in power simply has to work with the other parties to get appropriate bills passed (and conversely the other parties have to work with the one in power). Now there's only a couple problems to this... the party with the 3rd most number of seats wants to leave the country and are politicians from only one province (and I won't get started on Quebec here) and there's a scandal being investigated involving the ruling party.

So naturally what's the best thing the number 2 party can do, why topple the government naturally; talk to the guys who want to leave the country but will never have enough political force to do it and they have a chance of getting a snap election called. Just brilliant, I'm convinced that Stephen Harper is coming off looking like a spoiled brat who can't admit defeat and will try everything in his power to take the government down. What a dumb ass! Because of you the government will fall and Canadians will go back to the polls to vote.

What's the end result? It just costs the Canadian taxpayers a boatload of money for another election and in the mean time nothing gets accomplished. Sure Prime Minister Martin will try to save his government and may do so for a short while but in the mean time nothing will be accomplished other than PR campaigns in an effort to prepare for the election. So to all of this all I have to say is you're all a bunch of fucking idiots; you're all great role models stagnating the country for a year just to prove your worth in a popularity contest.

Ok, I'm done ranting about the government for now.
