U.S. Death Toll in Iraq Rises to 2,001

I can't beleive that over two thousand US soldiers have died in Iraq since the start of the war. You would think that this war was something that would have been resolved quickly. If you take away the reasoning for the war I would have expected that the people in Iraq would have been happy to get rid of Saddam but it turns out that a lot of them seemed to be quite happy in the regime and they oppose what the US stands for more than opposing what Sadam stood for.

But you can't take the deaths out of context, the US is at war to reduce the threat of terror. This was all caused by the bombing of the world trade center but my question is at what point do the deaths caused by trying to fight the war on terrorism pile up too high to continue fighting the war? We're already close to matching the amount of deaths in the World Trade Center to deaths in Iraq.

I have a sneaky suspicion that this war will end when the Bush administration is finished it's second term.
